Amboseli National Park

The park is located in Kajiado County, in Kenya, lies closest to Nairobi City. The park was formerly called Masai Amboseli National Park. It was established as a national in 1914 and covers over 392sqkm. It rests in the Southern Part of Kenya along the border with Tanzania. The Masai people are the closest ethnic group to the park. The park has swamps, wildlife, birds, among others. The park is famous for large herd’s views of free range elephants and also Mountain Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and transfer to Amboseli National Park

After your breakfast, on the start of your trip, our guide will come for you at your hotel in Nairobi. (In case you’re in a different location, you will let us know so we can pick you). Our guide will warmly welcome you, and brief you about your trip. He will be your guide until the end of your trip. From Nairobi, he will drive you to Amboseli National Park which might take you 4 hours depending on the stopovers you will do along the way. You will enjoy this road trip to the park as the guide will be explaining to you the physical features you will see.

Upon arrival in the park, you will check-in your preferred place of accommodation, have lunch and prepare for an afternoon game drive. You will love what you will set your eyes on. You will see beauty of nature in this park with views of elephants, impala, cheetahs, lions, leopards, Masai giraffes, hyenas, blue wildebeest, cape buffalo, African crocodiles, zebras, among others, vegetation, and landscape. Along this game drive, you will enjoy sights of birds in the area. Don’t miss them out. You will enjoy this welcome note.

After exhausting the day, you will be returned to the hotel for dinner and overnight rest, as you prepare for another wonderful day.

Day 2: Full Day at Amboseli National Park

In case you missed the clear views of Mountain Kilimanjaro in this park, don’t worry, today is the day. Today after breakfast, with your packed lunch
(not to spare any time), you will head out for a game drive, bird watching, scenic views of Mountain Kilimanjaro, and other activities. You will be taken to the best spot of viewing Mountain Kilimanjaro in the park. It stands at 4900m high. You will be able to see the snow-capped peak. With your camera, you will take photos of this beauty. You will also see wildlife along and birds.

You will then proceed on a game drive to explore the park, for more views of the game. The park has over 30 species of mammals and over 400 elephants. You won’t miss the likes of elephants, impala, cheetahs, lions, leopards, Masai giraffes, hyenas, blue wildebeest, Cape buffalo, African crocodiles, zebras, monkeys, baboons, among others. The park is a raven for birds, over 376 species. You will enjoy sights of buffalo weavers, palm nut vultures, red and yellow bishops, African skimmers, pelicans, kingfishers, among others. You will be driven to different corners of the park for better views.

Along these game drives, you will have a moment to have your lunch. The guide will locate a place with great views of the surroundings to enjoy your lunch.

After a moment of relation, you will head on for a guided walk safari. Exploring on foot is so fun. Along your walk you will meet wildlife birds among other things. You may also choose to hike in the tropical forest and enjoy the sights and sounds of birds. Your walk will be spiced up with a cultural visit to the Masai lands. The closest tribe to the park are the Masai ethnic group of people. Have some time and study Masai culture. Before the park became a game reserve, these people settled and controlled the area. It’s an ethnic group that was most feared. They have a unique culture that you won’t keep to yourself. Some tourists have visited the park to know more about this ethnic group that has taken long to appreciate civilization.

They have been noted as one of those tribes that have tried to keep their culture intact. You will have a moment of interacting with them, and in the process you will learn a lot from them. You will appreciate their humble way of life and how they take care of cattle. You could also support them by buying a souvenir of the ir clothes or handmade craft for your memory. Await to enjoy their famous traditional dance. You will also take some time to visit the observation hill. On top of this hill you will be rewarded with the best views of the mountain and wildlife in the park.

You may also choose to view the park and surroundings from above. With the hot air balloon ride, you will enjoy a breathtaking scenery. From above you will see wildlife, the mountain, and the tropical forest and a feeling of being in space. You can enjoy this activity as a family, it can be so exciting.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and departure

It’s sad that tour trip has to end. On this day, you will utilize all your time in the park, for your last memories. You will embark on a morning game drive, this will be breath taking for you will not only see wildlife but have great views of Mountain Kilimanjaro. In the morning hours there clear view. Take an opportunity and take photos, for the last time. You will view herds of elephants and more wildlife. You will enjoy what you will see, with more views of birds in the area with the help of binoculars.

After exhausting your time in the park, you will return to the lodge for breakfast. After a moment of relaxation, you will check out of the hotel and your guide will just be in time to pick you up. On your way to Nairobi, you will have lunch and then proceed to your hotel or to the airport as it will be communicated.
