Water Rafting on River Nile

Pick up is at 6:00am after breakfast at the Hotel for early morning drive on Jinja highway. Our first stop will be at the Historical Ssezibwa waterfalls, about 32 km east of Kampala city in Mukono District, for 1hr. The falls are roughly 7m high with water swishing over the rocks joyfully. The beautiful serenity-pool at the bottom created by the falling water forms beautiful scenery together with the natural vegetation covering the rocks.

This site has several bird species presenting an opportunity for bird watching. You may also engage in rock climbing, canoeing, hikes, nature walks to surrounding communities and camping if you have more days for you safari.

We proceed to Mabira forest , the main enduring indigenous forest in Central Uganda, covering over 300 sq. km , located in Buikwe District along Kampala-Jinja road. Here we will go for a forest walk for 2hrs. Mabira forest is a bird lover paradise inhabiting over 300 birds species and several primates. You will be able to see birds like the African Grey parrot, hornbill species, rare blue swallow, sunbirds, weyn’s weaver mainly at the forest-fringed pond. The walking trails through canopys, valleys with papyrus swamps and patches of grassland, you will have a good view of the white colobus, red tailed monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey and blue duiker monkeys.

We then continue to Jinja to have lunch at one of the hotels overlooking the River Nile. Then leave for an afternoon drive to Ripon Fall and a Boat Ride to the source of the Nile and Lake Victoria where you will take great pictures for future memories.

Later visit Jinja town once the industrial capital of Uganda but turned residential with many old Indian styled structures in which many Indians lived during the pre-Amin era. There is a place where you can buy Ugandan crafts if you are interested. At the end of the Jinja town tour you will navigate to Bujagali Falls which lies 9km from Jinja north of the town. This was named after an African spirit Bujagali which was said to have occasionally floated on a piece of bark cloth down the river. Then drive back to Kampala.
