Murchison falls National Park

Murchison falls conservation Area covering 5,072 square kilometers is one of Uganda’s largest and oldest protected areas lying at the northern end of the Albertine Rift valley.

The altitude range from 619m at the delta on Lake Albert and 1.292 m at Rabongo hill It is named after the breath-taking spectacular water falls on the Great River Nile A boat launch to the bottom of the falls enables you to view the water falls as it thesaurus through a 7M wide rocky cleft dropping to 43M.

The park is named after the marvelous falls on the river, which encounters a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley Escarpment, and then it is transformed into a froth of thunderous white water, with no comparison to any other site in East Africa.

The vegetation is characterized by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Game drive provides a game viewing opportunity at close quarters to see lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalos, Elephants, Uganda Kob and countless herds of impalas. Budongo forest is home to chimpanzees and other primates; chimpanzee also bird watching in Budongo Forest and Kanyiyo Pabidi Forest Reserve can be done here.
