Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival pick up from Kilimanjaro Airport
Upon your arrival, our guide will pick you from Kilimanjaro Airport, brief you about your trip and will be explaining to you the several physical features you will meet. From the airport, he will drive you to Ilboru Safari Lodge where you will be resting. The lodge is located at the lower slopes of Mount Meru. It has wonderful views of the place.
Day 2: Transfer to Arusha National Park
Following your breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will be driven to your first destination which is Arusha National Park, which will take you at most one a half hours. It’s a small park compared to most of the parks in Tanzania, but it has wonderful physical features and wildlife. It has Ngurdoto crater in the southeast of Park, with crater lakes, black and white colobus monkeys, herds of buffalos and elephants, zebras.
You will enjoy wildlife and birds on a game drive. In the afternoon you will go for a walk safari, to see crater lakes and explore the area. After exhausting your time, you will return to IIboru Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Natron National Park
After your breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will hit the bumpy road and head to Lake Natron National Park. The park has typical African landscape, where you will pass by Masai villages. In the park you will enjoy wildlife in the park, such as bee boxes, baboons, zebras, giraffes, among others. This park also has bird species that you will enjoy seeing. You will take a moment and visit Lake Natron, which is a paradise for birds.
Accommodation will be at Lake Natron Halisi Camp, which will give you a feel of the place.
Day 4: Cultural Experience in Masai Land
A cultural experience in Tanzania is one of the best moments on a safari. We will dedicate this day to visit Masai villages. They are welcoming people and an interaction with them is worthwhile. You will enjoy their way of and to crown the whole moment, they will entertain you with their traditional dance. You may also buy a souvenir from them.
Day 5: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
Following your breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park. It’s located in Southwest of Arusha, it is 120km from Arusha, northern part of Tanzania. It is one of the most visited Parks in Tanzania. It’s the fifth largest park, covering 2850sqkm. Commonly referred to as a ‘Mimi’ Serengeti Park. It’s famous for its vegetation and all time water supply, swamps, acacia, woodland and baobab trees that attract a number of wildlife and birds. It’s easy to access and with good accommodation. You will join the game drive and enjoy views of dwarf mangoose, yellow barbet, and other wildlife, birds, Tarangire River, among other physical things.
Accommodation will be at Marombi, which is located at the shores of Lake Manyara.
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After your delicious breakfast, you will be taken to Lake Manyara National Park. It’s 126km in the South west of Arusha and part of the Manyara region. The park can be easily accessed by car, lies close to Tarangire National Park. The Flora and Fauna in the park has attracted so many visitors not forgetting the birds, Lake Manyara, and the tourism activities. The park covers 330sqkm and has huge numbers of lions, leopards, elephants and flamingos. You will enjoy game drives where you will have clear views of wildlife in the park, birds, and also explore the park lake. You will return to the park for lunch, and then come back and send time on Lake Manyara.
Day 7: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After your breakfast, you will head on with your guide to Serengeti National Park with your packed lunch. The Park is located in the Serengeti ecosystem in Mara, and Simiyu regions. The name was derived from Masai word Siringet, meaning ‘the place where the land runs forever’. It’s located northwest of Tanzania, covering 14,750sqkm. The place is full of savanna, riverine forests, woodlands, grassland plains. The park has a water supply from Ikongo and Grumeti Rivers, it’s close to Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Southeast.
At the sight of it you will have a view of savanna with a few trees and lots of wildlife and great migration. It was established in 1951 to protect wildlife. The area was previously a home to Masai people but later they were transferred to Ngorongoro Reserve in 1959. It is the oldest park in the country. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park, to view wildlife and birds in the area.

Journey time: 5-6 hours to main gate
Day 8: Full day game drive in Serengeti
Following your breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive, and see wildlife before it scatters in such for food. You will be able to see elephants, leopards, lions, zebras, giraffes, bush bucks, among others and a number of wildlife species along your game drive. After your lunch, you will relax, and then go for an afternoon game drive. If you happen to visit the park in the period of the great migration, you will be amazed to see herds of wildebeests and other animals crossing to or from Masai Mara. This great migration is the highlight of the park. In the comfort of your 4×4 car, you enjoy closer views of these animals. After exhausting the day, you will return to the lodge and relax.
Day 9: Visit to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The conservation area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, found in the crater highlands of Tanzania. Located 180km west of Arusha. The Ngorogoro crater is the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera. The crater was due to the volcanic eruption that happened 2million years ago and is estimated to have 4500-5800m high. The conservation Area also protects the Olduvai Gorge, vast wildlife that has ever existed on earth. Over 25,000 animals, including the eland, hippos, hyenas, lions, leopards, wild beasts, gazelles, among others. It has rivers like Magadi and grasslands that wildlife feeds on. There is a lot that be done when you tour the place.
With your packed lunch, you will head on and explore the area. You will visit the Crater Lake, visit Olduvai Gorge, and look out for the beautiful scenery while at the Crater Lake.
Accommodation and dinner will be at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge which is found in the crater rim.
Day 10: Departure
Unfortunately your amazing trip has come to an end. After your breakfast, on this day assuming your flight is in the afternoon, you can use the morning hours to enjoy some activities like swimming in the pool, or a sport at your hotel. Your guide will come for you shortly after and take you back to Arusha for your departure flight at Kilimanjaro Airport.
